Old Business:
The board was presented an ordinance to prohibit full time RV living. It was suggested to add in Recreational vehicles may be permitted for temporary residential use for a period not to exceed one (1) year only in cases of natural disaster, emergency displacement caused by fire or flooding, or during home repairs or renovations that render the residence uninhabitable. A permit must be obtained and approved by the Board within thirty (30) days of the qualifying event prior to allowing temporary residency. These changes will be made to the proposed ordinance and further discussion will be held at the June meeting.
New Business:
Rex Adams came with Emily Haxby to talk about the organization “One Property At A Time”. The board is very interested in the program to help with abandoned homes in Clatonia. Further discussion will continue in following meetings.
It was suggested to show appreciation to the residents who work hard on their yard to keep Clatonia looking beautiful. Sarah will post a poll on the Village Facebook page and residents can vote on who has the nicest lawn for the time being. Winners will have a sign posted in their yard and picture posted on Facebook.
Sarah presented the board with the current plans and prices of internet for the Clatonia Fire Dept and the Village Office. If the Village upgraded to fiber it would result in a $39/month savings. The board agreed to proceed with upgrading the Fire Dept internet and the Village Office internet.
Shawn Pohlmann with the Clatonia Cardinal Club came to the meeting to present the liquor license for Clatonia Days in July. Jesse made a motion to approve the liquor license for the Cardinal Club for Clatonia Days in July. Mike seconded. Voting yes was Schuerman, J. Hajek, Waltke, and Holsing. Motion carried 4-0. The Cardinal Club was also informed of the water line break and flooding of the gym floor. Shawn let the board know that the Cardinal Club would help fund repairs if needed. The board would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Cardinal Club for the help as repairs will be costly.
Because of the water line break in the north kitchen of the community center, the kitchen floor (including sub floor) and three wall panels in the gym need replaced. Paul Davis submitted their quote of $5,600 for the repairs. The board suggested we also get a quote from Fred Holly and A & F Construction. Voting yes was Schuerman, J. Hajek, Waltke, and Holsing. Motion carried 4-0.
The State Of Nebraska emailed the Village the new requirements for Lead service line replacements. Sarah will forward the email and attachments to the board so they can review. Discussion will continue in following meetings.
To assign the address of the house being moved in on SW100th Rd, a new street must be added. The board needed to name this new street. After much discussion and debate, Jesse made a motion to name the new street “Independence Street”. Mike seconded. Voting yes was J. Hajek, Waltke, Schuerman, and Holsing. Motion carried 4-0.
Dealings With The Public:
